Counselling for Anxiety, Stress and Phobias

Receiving counselling for anxiety, stress and phobia issues can put you more in control of your life, helping you to cope better so you can see things from a new, more positive perspective.  Coping strategies and looking at how you might make better choices in your lifestyle may also be of benefit, together with learning breathing techniques and addressing the triggers.

The symptoms of anxiety can often be quite extreme such as racing heart, palpitations, heart racing, dizziness, shaking, legs going week.  However when you understand why your body is reacting in this way it helps to normalize it.  Anxiety can manifest as PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), phobia fear, panic attacks, OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), or sometimes simply as an inability to focus or concentrate.   Anxiety and pro-longed stress can also cause physical issues such as headaches, skin problems and IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and result in constant worrying and negative thoughts.  Disturbed sleep and insomnia is also a symptom of anxiety and in severe cases, this can result in total exhaustion.

Once the anxiety is reduced then panic attacks, phobias, insomnia and other symptoms can be resolved with strategies to change the way you think and feel.
